ACCESS Capital Group was founded by people just like you - insurance agents. We understand the challenges that agents face on a daily basis, especially in acquiring capital.

With this mindset, we have developed a streamlined process to get you the capital you need - free of the burdens associated with other "traditional" capital resources.


Our History.

ACCESS Capital Group, head-quartered in Omaha, Nebraska, was founded in 2007 by insurance professionals with over 30 years of combined experience in the insurance industry.

Our founders recognized the difficulties that exist for independent agents in acquiring capital. Through their past experiences of trying to acquire capital through traditional lenders (i.e., banks, credit unions, etc.) they became aware that most financial institutions did not appreciate or understand the value of commission streams from a collateral perspective.

Add to that the fact that when they were able to acquire capital through these traditional mechanisms, the interest rates were so high that it didn't make any sense to pursue them from a business standpoint.

Voila! ACCESS Capital Group was born. They created this financial services company specifically tailored for insurance agents and agencies. Since inception we have provided hundreds of agents with millions of dollars in capital - the entire time leaning on our core fundamentals of honesty, integrity and ethical business practices.

Meet the team.


David Emerton

Principal, Co-Founder

Dave is a Principal and Co-Founder of ACCESS Capital Group. He has over 30 years of insurance sales, sales training and management, and brokerage experience. After graduating from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, he began his insurance career in 1978 with Woodmen of the World Life Insurance Society. Since 1985, he has owned and operated D.L. Emerton & Associates, an insurance sales and brokerage agency. From 1999-2006, he served as Director of Training, Regional Sales Director, and National Sales Director for Medico Insurance Group.


Bryan Neary FSA, MAAA

Principal, Co-Founder

Bryan is a Principal and Co-Founder of ACCESS Capital Group. He has over 16 years of experience pricing and developing Individual Health and Life products, primarily focused on Senior Health and Supplemental Worksite markets. After graduating from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, he started his actuarial career with Mutual of Omaha in the Individual Health division. He held management roles with a number of different insurance companies, and was most recently the Vice President and Chief Actuary of Medico Insurance Group, where he oversaw all actuarial functions of the company. Bryan is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries.


Matt Nohl

VP, Operations

Matt is the VP of Operations at ACCESS Capital Group. He is responsible for financial analysis, process development, commission appraisals, and web development. As a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Matt started his career at Mutual of Omaha before joining the ACCESS Capital Group team in 2010.


Michael Kawa


Mike is the Controller for ACCESS Capital Group. He is responsible for all accounting functions of ACCESS Capital Group. A Certified Managerial Accountant and graduate of Bellevue University, he brings over 8 years of experience from a wide variety of industries to the team.


Patrick Wilson

Financial Analyst

Patrick is a Financial Analyst for ACCESS Capital Group. He is responsible for appraising commission streams and working closely with clients to obtain the proper documentation and guide them through the valuation process. As a graduate of the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Patrick joined the ACCESS Capital Group team in 2012.


Eddie Franco

Sales Director

Eddie is the Sales Director for ACCESS Capital Group. He is responsible for the development and implementation of a sales process and establishing relationships with agents and agencies. Eddie brings over 10 years of experience in the financial services and insurance industries. Before joining Access Capital Group in 2017 Eddie was with Pacific Life on their Long-Term Care team.


Kellie Herrmann

Office Manager

Kellie is the Office Manager for ACCESS Capital Group. She is responsible for overseeing the management of technology, human resources, finances, and facilities. As a graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University and the University of Nebraska at Kearney, Kellie joined the ACCESS Capital Group team in 2012.
